Baba Yaga arrives in her legendary hut on chicken legs, followed by an extraordinary procession of creatures known from Slavic beliefs and folk tales. From inside the hut emerge Ubożęta, Biesy, Zmory, Rusałki, Dziady Nocnice, Wilkołak, Kłobok, Leshy, and many other beings inhabiting the world of ancient legends.
"Slavic New World Station" depicts the moment when two realities meet. The boundary between the human world and the fairy tale world disappears for a moment, and creatures known from our ancestors' stories appear amidst familiar landscapes.
This illustration is inspired by Polish folklore, Slavic imagination, and stories passed down through centuries during long evenings. For perhaps that other world has not disappeared at all — it merely reminds us of its existence from time to time.
The illustration was created by Natalia Noszczyńska and is part of a collection inspired by Slavic mythology, folklore, and ancient traditions.
