About us

Black Dog Studio is the original studio of Natalia Noszczyńska and Sebastian Łuczywo — a place where illustration, photography, books, and ancient traditions meet nature, imagination, and daily wonder at the world.

We create books, illustrations, photographs, and objects inspired by Polish folk culture, Slavic tales, the rhythm of the seasons, and a world that was closer to nature. We are interested in what is fragile, fading, remembered from childhood, or found in the shade of an old tree, in a rural home, in the forest, in a ritual, in the color of the sky just after dusk.

Natalia Noszczyńska is an illustrator, designer, landscape architect, promoter of ancient traditions, and lecturer of illustration courses. She has over 40 illustrated publications to her credit, including books, picturebooks, e-books, and covers. She is the co-author of the book "Slavic Myths and Tales in Comics" and the illustrator and designer of the bestselling "Alphabet with Sound" by Pomelody.

Sebastian Łuczywo is a photographer, graphic designer, and co-author of books. He is known for his original photographic series documenting life outside the city — especially the Polish provinces shown on the border of realism, fairytale, and family narrative. His photographs have been published in media around the world.

Since 2021, we have been jointly developing the "Slavs" project, stemming from ancient beliefs, folk tales, rituals, symbols, and colors remembered by the land of ancestors.

Our first collaborative children's book was "The Slavic Wheel of the Year" — a story about time, the names of the months, and the rhythm of nature. Another book, "The Year of Ancient Traditions," combines Polish folk customs and handicrafts with practical tasks for the whole family. The publication was recognized by Culture.pl as one of the 10 most beautiful books for children — and not only.

Black Dog Studio is not just a shop for us. It is a studio of stories, images, and memories — a place created with a love for nature, books, childlike curiosity, the old world, and the calm rhythm of things.

We have collaborated with, among others, Google Arts & Culture, Intel, Pomelody, Krakow Festival Office, National Forum of Music, Polish Music Publishing House, "Memory and Future" Centre, Nasza Księgarnia Publishing House, Olesiejuk Publishing House, Pascal Publishing House, Nowa Baśń Publishing House, and Manufaktura Książek Publishing House.

Natalia is a lecturer of the course "Illustration for Children's Books from A to Z" under the wing of Laba Polska, Skvot, and has trained over 200 people.
